Winter Garden, FL Chris Baryla of Vernon is tied for sixth place at the midway point of the PGA Tour's qualifying school.
Baryla, 28, who held a one-shot lead after Thursday's second round, shot a 2-over 73 in Friday's third round at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge's Panther Lake course and sits at 8-under 206, five shots off the pace. He carded four birdies, four bogeys and a triple-bogey seven on the No. 12 hole.
A day earlier, Baryla set the course record at the centre's Crooked Cat course at 11-under 61, firing 11 birdies on a bogey-free round.
Ben Martin of the U.S., who was second to Baryla after two rounds, grabbed the lead with a 4-under 67 on Friday. At 13-under 201, Martin has a three-shot lead over Kyle Stanley of the U.S.
The top 25 and ties at the six-round event earn a PGA Tour card for 2011. The next 50 earn exemption on the Nationwide Tour.
Former B.C. junior star Richard Lee, who now lives in Arizona, is tied for 16th at 6-under 208.
