1.        Go to a well known golf store like Golf Town. If you're trading in old clubs, go to a smaller store like Nevada Bob’s. This is because you will get more money on trade in for old clubs.

2.        Make sure you try out most of the brands to make sure you know what brands you like.

3.        Start with the name brands like Taylormade and Ping or Titleist.

4.        Begin by trying out the irons. They are the important, just like the putter and driver. It is also key now to get the correct loft and lie altered to your height and swing.

5.        Make sure you have consulted with someone that knows what they are doing.

6.        Hit a couple of shots with clubs to make sure they feel correct.

7.        Get the proper golf ball that fits your ball and club head speed. There
shouldn’t be more then half a centimetre past your fingers for fitting gloves.

8.        Golf clothes are pretty simple to get, the only thing is that your shorts must be past your knees.

9.        Get the appropriate golf bag is very important. You don’t want a tour bag if your going to walk all the time. The best bags around now are Ping, because they have (some) lifetime warranty. Plus, they always last, so Ping is a good bag for the price.

10.        Golf shoes are important because you will be walking for at least six hours. Paying a lot of money is a good thing, because you will feel it later if you didn’t during your round.

11.        Head out to the course or the range to try out your new stwigs.
